FOR EVERYONE, EVERYDAY
Massage therapy is a type of treatment in which a trained and certified medical professional manipulates the soft tissues of your body muscle, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments, and skin using varying degrees of pressure and movement.
Massage is generally considered part of complementary and integrative medicine. It’s increasingly being offered along with standard treatment for a wide range of medical conditions and situations.
Studies of the benefits of massage demonstrate that it is an effective treatment for reducing stress, pain and muscle tension. Massage therapy from a licensed massage therapist provided at Everyday Massage may help people cope with the pain and stress of everyday life, including, but not limited to fibromyalgia, arthritis, sciatica, stiff joints, anatomy and many other conditions.
Types of Massage
What is it?
Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique. The predominate form of
reiki practiced throughout the world today, also known as Usui reiki, was
created by Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. It is a complementary
or alternative health approach. Reiki does not directly cure diseases or
illnesses. Instead, it is used as a way to manage symptoms and improve general well-being.
When should I schedule a Reiki session?
Reiki is known to help reduce pain, anxiety, and fatigue. You will leave the
session feeling energized and clear headed. Schedule a reiki session if
you are feeling some extra stress or need to clear your mind!
What are the benefits?
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and
around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind,
and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and
feelings of peace, security, and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.
Thai massage or Thai yoga massage is a traditional healing system combining acupressure, Indian Ayurvedic principles, and assisted yoga postures.
What is it?
The full body scrub is like a facial for your body. Your massage therapist
will apply our coffee scrub to your body section by section. The scrub will
then be removed with warm towels and the therapist will apply lotion or oil
to retain moisture and prolong the benefits of the scrub. This service is usually followed by a full body massage.
when should i schedule a full body scrub?
The coffee scrub has a multitude of benefits. Schedule this service right
before a big event, vacation, or just to help remove dead skin to reveal a
glowing complexion. The aroma from the coffee will leave you feeling energized and ready to tackle the day!
what are the benefits?
When coffee is applied to the surface of your skin, it helps redistribute fat
cells and decrease the formation of cellulite. It also acts as a
vasoconstrictor, tightening and shrinking blood vessels thereby helping
eliminate varicose veins. Our coffee scrub also contains vitamin E and jojoba oil to moisturize the skin.
WHAT IS IT?
This compliment is used throughout the duration of your massage. The
therapist will glide the cup across a targeted area and “park” the cup when
they feel a slight tug. The tug they feel from the cup means that you have
some muscle tension. Once they remove the cup you will feel a sense of relief in that area.
WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE CUPPING THERAPY?
We recommend cupping when you prefer a light pressure but need some
work on deeper muscle tissue. Cupping is also great if you have an active lifestyle.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
Cupping reaches into deeper muscle tissue that would typically require a
deep pressure by hand. Instead of doing a full body cupping you could do
a targeted treatment as well. For example, if you are on your feet a lot you
could do a targeted leg treatment. These sessions can be anywhere from
30-120 minutes. (We recommend 120 for a full body cupping)
